Page 80 (after describing the battle of Wadara) refers to both E. Morris and H.C. Russell:
- Several Rhodesians won well-deserved decorations. Major J. A. French received the D.S.O. for unfailing courage and devotion to duty over the whole period of operations. To Lieutenant E. Morris and Lieutenant E. Zacks was awarded the Military Cross for their very gallant conduct during the battle of Wadara, and to C.S.M. H. C. Russell the D.C.M. for his heroism and resource at Blackshirt Ridge.

Extract from HMS Cornwall
From 8-14 February 1940 Cornwall was docked in the Selborne dry dock at Simonstown, South Africa. In August she was summoned from the South Atlantic to proceed on convoy duties from Freetown. On the 25th convoy WS-2 arrived in South Africa with troop reinforcements including at least three Armoured Regiments for the 7th Armoured Division in Middle East. Also embarked was the 2nd West African Brigade en-route Mombassa for the Abyssinian Campaign.
